You can get the cv boot retaining clips from FORD but you need a special tool to fit them. Most people just use cable ties.

cable ties are not very good as they get hot and expand and the grease comes out.

Just make sure the CV is clean where the boot locates or it can slip off, especially with cable ties. And you dont need a special tool for the proper clips, just some pincer pliers

Cable ties are fine and not an MOT failure. I personally use 2 cable ties next to each nice and tight and no probs. In my opinion better than the metal clips. My girlfriend's car has had the proper metal clips come off before.

there is a special tool for crimping them ,i brought one and if you want to come to devon you can borrow it ,it crimps and pushes at the same time and has a hole so you can actually torque them up with a torque wrench.

Cable ties are pants and with a lowered car the shafts are at a nasty angle and the boots fall off.

Just use jubilee clips if you have enough clearance.

That's what i use and theyve lasted years. It was originally the mechanics at the main dealer who gave me this kinda obvious tip years ago
