Default Brickwork.....Cutting a BIG hole!!

We need to cut 2 circular holes of around 650mm diameter through a brick/block wall.

Any idea's how this can easily be done?

As damo said use a drill . Mark up your hole on the block work then drill lotsa holes like an outline. Then chop the hole out with a bolster.

I reckon that would take about a week. We actually need 2 of these holes!!

I know that Diamond core drills exist in this kind of size, but where to get one? Even if we have to pay someone to come and do it.

I would have thought loads of drill holes and then knock it through , get Chris to do it would keep him busy, i presume it's for some ventilation

have you got an SDS hammer drill, if so use this with a large chisel adaptor and you'll have it out in no time.

What i wanna know is what in the hell demands not one, but TWO 650mm holes in a wall?!

Still, won't need a lintel or support as its a load bearing shape

We have twin 2.5kw extraction fans to complement our 11kw 35,000 CFM main fan for the Rolling Road.

We figured the same, that if we cut a circular hole, it won't need a lintel.

So, it looks like it's going to be hard graft then?

Anyone want to come and do it in exchange for a RR tune??!!

An 11kw fan, jesus man. I shouldn,t want to stand to close to it at full chat. I take it it is 3 phase, and has star- delta start up?

LOL. Yes it is 3-phase. We have just bought a Danfoss Inverter to run it, giving us full speed control, I imagine that might be a little on the powerful side for your bog standard Citroen Saxo's.

See how that compares to what you see tomorrow!!

as all ready said mate chain drill it it wont take long and as for a core 650mm well that will take a big drill to turn that and if you can find a firm that can do it, it will probley cost quite a bit as i wont be a drill that you hold it will be on a frame / stand.

I'd use a core drill.

Just make sure the drill has a clutch as you may end up breaking your wrists if it decides to bite back.
