does ur comment mean that the std cossie turbos are in fact NOT turbos as they are turbo/wastegate combinations?

Well, I tried all three of the Cossie Intercooler, and the charge cooler from the big turbo escort cossie.........and I did track days, all on a stage three conversion.
2wd Intercooler : Totally Crap if you use your car to it's full capability on a track day.
4 x 4 Intercooler : Not much better than a 2wd in reality, Act's were only a couple of degrees below the 2wd version.
Charge Cooler Unit from a big turbo Escort Cossie : The best of the three, and held good ACT's, but still along way from perfect.
All of these were used on the same engine set up.
Then went for big power (428bhp) and knew that to protect the engine I needed something much better than any of the OE Intercoolers/Charge Cooler, so went for Pro Alloy. Haven't done a track day yet with it, but it'll be interesting to compare the ACT's. And the fact that it fits perfectly with no body mods at all needed, and uses all of the original body fixings makes it an ideal unit. I've got the full set......Radiator, Intercooler, and Pre Turbo Cooler, so expecting some good results. The quality of their workmanship is 100%........ So expecting the same for the results.

This was meant to be top secret untill it was FULLY tested
As a company we have to make what the customer wants....
There are a couple of reasons why we are experimenting with this cooler
1) Some people prefer a horizontal core for asthetical reasons.
2) Some people think that ACT's are the be all and end all with intercoolers, regardless of flow rates, boost characteristics and how well the car drives generally.. this cooler certainly gives cool ACT's-we will have to see how it drives after it has been mapped,
These are the points which we have paid particular attention to;
1) Rounded end tanks (VERY STRONG)
2) flowed inlet and outlet pipes(Like our RS500 coolers)
3) bonnet catch clearence
4) Twin 9"spal fans on a lazer cut mount frame(like our cossie ones)
5) Propper bracketry for re- mounting the water radiator
6) 50mm thick extruded core (like our RS 500 cooler)
We will not be making this type of cooler untill we have FULL results and we will also still produce the vertical coolers...
Glad you are pleased so far Alex... you Gobby sod

Sid said something about your car being at Pro. Ian and him were talking about his cooler and Ian happened to mention that yours was there for development. Hope you get the results your after mate.
Let us know how you get on as Sid's interested to know mate.
