PC Advice
Right i would like to upgrade some bits on my PC.
Any suggestions.????
Mainly used for gaming, so i've sorted a GC already. ATI 850XT PE
What brands of modo to use?
Is 1gb of DDR400 enough? i've got 512 DDR400 at the moment.
AMD or P4? Dual core? what speed ? 3? 3.5?
Regards HD, im gonna go for a raptor drive.
Who if anyone on here can get the stuff cheap or has it for sale:

For gaming, AMD seems to have the edge. what speed? as quick as u can afford i have 3.0 ghz P4 and i run the newest games in high res no problems. Dual core: not worth it (yet)
Graphics card, i can recommend the XFX Geforce 7900GT XXX. Just got one myself today and man it is quick...
Motherboard, i always use ASUS and never had problems.
1gb of DDR400 at least LOL

i agree, dont bother with dual core.
2gb will help for games, most of the new stuff (quake4, BF2 etc) loves to eat memory
a nice AMD64 (single core) shoulddo nicely.
if you're really flush go for the FX series, theyve got a nice ammount of on-die cache and run so much better than their equally clocked competitors.
theyre not cheap tho
