Looking at getting a passat tdi
or similar for a daily run around. Only want to spend around £2k. Looks like i'll be able to get one with about 85K+ on the clock.
Does anyone have one and what should I look out for?
Can anyone recommend anything similar?
Paul.

As per Ricks comments
Great cars all the mid range size VAG cars are awesomely reliable
But my god they are dull to drive
I have an A6 that i have done 40k miles in 12 months and its only had 2 tyres and 3 services thats it
also always gives 48+ Mpg

Actually may go for a focus diesel as the insurance is nearly £100 cheaper. I can then put some slicks on and join Marco's Focus estate WRC team

Testing the future
the passat is not just a boring drive - it's much worse than that
the mass of the engine is forwards of the front wheels. kinda like a 911 in reverse. the understeer is terrible.

I have a 2003 Passat TDi , good relaible cars but go round corners like a brick.
Nice and comfi to drive ,if your looking for one make sure you get a comfort line one (has nice seats, armrest & Elec windows)
They also have a habit of eating front and back bushings & tyres and
chech the central locking this gives trouble on all them, big money to fix
