Default Mondeo TDCi

As I now have to do a 60 mile round trip to work and with the cost of petrol, I am thinking of selling me ST200 and getting a new shape mondeo diesel. Anybody got one, anything I should be looking out for, how much to the gallon etc etc.

Many thanks

I have got Mondeo TDCI 130 for 2 years now. Have driven almost 110.000 Km with and haven't had any problems with it so far. I get 47 MPG, but must admit that most of the mileage I make is on the highway.

Car is pretty fast for a diesel. Top Speed on the GPS is 211 km/h

Handling of the car is not bad, but some lowered springs would be welcome. overall a very, very good and reliable car.

Andre',
Thanks for that, I will look for the 130 brake version then.

is it worth paying the extra for the zetec version, or more still for the zetec sport version?

I got the Trend version, which is as far as i know comparable with the Zetec version in the UK. I would always gor for the Zetec-s version, since this one has lowered springs and nicer front and rear bumpers and 18inch wheels. If you have got the money, go for it.

The springs on the Trend/Zetec version are to soft for me. Think the lowered springs of the Zetec-S would be better. I however didn't have any budget left :-(

Hate Ford at the moment.
Have a little issue with them concerning my Mondeo TDCi 130bhp.

Speedy, I had seen that thread and it did cause me some concern. Can you let us know how you get on when contacting Ford again. Your example may help if god forbid the same happens to someone else.

I had a TDCi 130 Zetec for a short time and thought it was great. Then my repmobile Vectra 2.2 TDi SRI arrived, and I still think the Mondeo is the better car, though the Vectra has grown on me.

Got my Vectra 3.0 TDCi V6 Elite estate today, and the extra pull is VERY noticable, but the seats are really not supportive enough.
