Default Number plate problems....

Right i have a car which i bought from a salvage yard. It was cat c and because of this after i have reapired the damage i need to get the vehicle V.I.C'd. Now the damage was a front end bang and the number plate is dead.

Problem is i cant get a number plate made up as i dont have any insurance/ownership/tax etc documents and to get it mot'd i need a front number plate.

Does anyone on here make, or know anyone who makes them that can help....The only thing i have is the recipt from the salvage yard when i bought the car....

Cheers in advance

lloyd the vehicle will be insured before being driven on the road. Was just using it as a example.

And thanks to all the people who have suggested those places.

Mucho appreciated.

Does a car require a MOT before a VIC can be carried out?
If a car is over 3 years old and is to be driven to a VIC Site, it must have a current MOT.
Back

Is insurance needed to drive a car to a VIC?

Yes. The person driving the car to the VIC site must be insured to do so.
Back

Is road tax needed to drive a car to a VIC?
No, but it is an offence to use or keep a car on the road if it not licensed.
Back

Must the car presented have number plates?

No. However the registration mark must be known and declared when the VIC application is submitted. Also, without number plates the car cannot be driven to the VIC. VOSA may be able to assist you in obtaining number plates for the car if you do not have the Registration Certificate, contact our national number 08706060440 for further advice.
