Fitting 500 cooler UPDATED (Major chew)
Any tips for fitting a 500 cooler to a 4x4 saph?
I'm sure there was a topic on fitting them before but can't find it?
cheers for any help
Bri.

best down from underneath so will need a ramp.
you will aso need two extra rubber mounts like the rad mounts.
drain collant and remove rad to give plenty room.
is not that hard really.
bolts into holes already there on chassis legs

Hey up Bri
Is it a genuine 500 job?
I fitted mine pretty much as described above, with a few tweaks. RS500's have braces between the rad and cooler at the top - they mount to the two lips on the cooler and the lips on the rad where the bottom of the std cooler bolts on. I copied these in plate to make the whole lot stiffer.
The rad moves back toward the engine, and the cooler bolts to where the rad came from. You'll need a second pair of rad bolts and the rubbers.
After finding out how much the pro-alloy amal bracket was, I made my own No disrespect to the lads, I know their kit is top notch, but I don't have £30 for a bit of ally plate
If you want to look at my car to get some ideas, you're more than welcome
Neil.

Well what a week i have had. computer hard drive died. Hit a pheasant @ 70mph, oh and the simple task that was fitting the 500 cooler!!!
Removed old cooler and rad and noticed the rad was goosed, so got that reconned. fitted all back together, relocated amal valve etc, went to pipe it up
Cold side boost hose 4 inches too short
Hot side 1inch too short
Managed to make a temp repair but pipe blew of @28psi (gain of 8psi) Ordered my new hoses stating cooler fitted and type etc. when they arrived hot side just about fit but the cold side was 2 inches too short still.
when fitting the cooler, rad position stayed the same and cooler mounted in bolt hole infront of rad (rad to cooler gap approx 1.5 inches)
On the intercooler the hot side outlet is long and the cold side outlet is short is this right. Pics to follow later.
Cheers Bri.

when you ordered your boost pipes, did you order 2wd ones,as they are longer than 4x4 hoses
(intercooler looks to be 2wd fitment if it hasn't been cut)
