There's someone in the control room monitoring you and pressing a button to stop your signal at vital times. You'll have to ring Sky and see if they can get him to stop.

Is the box getting hot? Would prob freeze altogether though

Could be weak signal - has the dish moved a bit perhaps? How long has it been doing it?

Box is not hot really. Have checked signal strength and its better than my mum and dads and they don't have the problem. May have to steal their box

the signal might be better but the offset on the dish may not be right or the volts to the lnb on dish may not be

There's your problem! - I had no end of trouble with my first Amstrad Sky+ box. Eventually it gave up any + features altogether. I refused to have an amshite replacement so got a brand new Pace PVR3 unit

Actually, being serious, I know it's not a Sky box but my freeview will do it now and then when a light is switched on or off, or a plug is unplugged etc. It just interrupts the signal. Might be something like that

Just spoke a a mate of mine who is a Sky engineer.

He says.....
Quote:
Poss dish slightly off or LND (block on dish ) on way out, normally I re-align dish and pop a new LNB on .. that cures 99%.

It is quite normal for any Sky box to freeze ocassionally, this is due to the cheap crap components they make them with.
Only need to worry when the picture freezes and you can't unfreeze it without rebooting it. Then it is either the box or LND on the way out.
