retail is a very hard business to be in, especially if your just starting off, if you have a figure in mind as to what its going to cost you to open/run for the first 1/4 , then triple it and you will be somewhere near.

the biggest problem with opening a small business is this fookin government, they will do absolutly fook all for you and charge you fook royally for it, the tax/inland revenue payments are cripling, there are fees pal you have nevr even heard of until you open your own business.

the question . 'would i do it again' ?

i would seriously have to think about it before giving an answer to that one. its very very hard work

Im having this dilemma at the mo aswell

do i or dont i

im in middle of finding out about a unit for doing car valeting and hopefully other services etc etc

im fed up of working for others an dhave asked a mate who has his own successful garage and says its hard work but worth it

And im determined with a sensible head and good ideas so thats half the battle , i also want to stick part time at my work and build it up then by by employer

I have my own Fish & Chip shop, was just in the right place at the right time I suppose and it wasn't a huge decision to jack my job cause I fookin hated it!!

Sometimes get pissed off about it all because I never seem to be away from work but then I realise what it has managed to give me and it all makes it better

Ditto that....

IMO and pls dont take this the wrong way people, starting a valeting company or car cleaning co or aircon co, is very risky... there are people out there already who have an ample client base etc etc... it will be very hard to prise customers away from people if they are happy with the service and trust the person already.....

UNLESS you have a USP... say for example, you do aircon regas degas, and while you are there twiddling your thumbs you valet the car for not alot more!! Or visa versa! OR you are a valeter AND SMART repairer.. they both go hand in hand really... something HAS to seperate you from the rest IMO

same with me I am a SMART repairer, my USP used to be the fact I am a SMART repairer!! Also the fact I do everything, interior repairs, exterior repairs alloys etc etc (all except dents) so I was the only person my customer had to ring they didnt have to remember who did what, it was just Damian the SMART bloke..

Thats changed though now the market has been flooded... my "USP" if you can call it that is the fact I have been doing it for a good number of years... erm thats it ROFL, plus I am EXTRA reliable

Its a scary jump from a regular income to nothing and building up a business.

Its a big learning curve bro but worth while,

And YES I would do it again from my own experiances but cant speak for every one

Franchise? A good possible passive income is to stock adult prepaid cards in the UK considering the enormous chunk the adult industry gets in overall internet spending in the UK.
