i learnt a long time ago that if someone was going to hit me, it was better to brace for the impact rather than avoid them
mind you, they taught us that at bus driver school, in a car it's always different

did you get an details of the twat or did they just ride off as if nothing had happened?

they both just rid off dojj, didnt even stop to look!

i wish it hadnt have damaged the steering so much so i could have chased the little shit n hammard them

now i need to find a way of getting it back to my house and start either breaking it or repair it!

if you've hit the kerb you can look at it in 2 ways
best case scenario is that you've bent the track rod end a little so it's put the tracking out and that has also dislogded one ot he selector arms underneath
worst case scenario is that the kerb has put the wheel into the hub, which has pushed it intot he gearbox and thats why it's fooked

but until you get it back you won't know

if you can get underneath it and have a look to see if it's leaking oil everywhere or you can move the stick about with it not running or soemthing

unfortunatly it sounds like it's the second option saw a lad doing the same thing at stockly park a few years back, drove into the kerb and that was it, coulnd't move the car afterwards because he'd broke it good and proper

if there isn't any cosmetic damage it might be worth getting it apart to asses the damage and if it's sorted by putting in a new box to flog it as a whole car that ight be the way to go

dojj, theres slight cosmetic damage, neither wheel will move off the steering wheel, and when i put it into gear the car doesnt even make an attempt to move

do you think thats the second option matey?

Gutted about the car, hope you get it sorted easily/cheaply...

At the end of the day, remember this valuable advice:

not too clued up on the fwd cars mate, but it does sound like thats the case
when i wrote my saph off the steering rack out bit had been pulled out of the rack itself so one wheel was turning but the ohter one wasn't (the other reason was that it was still stuck in the armco about 40 feet behind me, but thats another story )

i'd wait till it was recovered, and then asess the damage, it might be something as simple as a mounting thats broken and'll cost you 20p to fix
too many cars being broken now because they are worth more in parts and it would be a pity to see another one going the same way
