I have only got 235/70/16s BFG All terrain there one of the best tyres for road use and are quite good off road but no good for extrem off roading

Know i have put the 2" lift kit on i maybe able to fit a set of 235/85/16s
I tried my old 110 wheels on that have got 235/85/16s but they rubbed

I like the SJ Al very capable off road but totally shit on the road but a bit better with a rear coil convsersion and maybe thinner tyres. I use to have SAT's on mine, they done the job well and the winch hardly ever came out ..... until a L/Rover needed pulling out of course

i've sent this link to my mate who's well into his off roading. he's got a chopped range rover pick up with sd1 v8 on injection with full external cage, winch etc.

probably won't make the next one though, that's the weekend before easter nuerburgring trip and there'll be some preparation to do.

I went for the first time today with a friend....Was driving a defender..I seriously couldn't believe how stable it feels driving it....(challenging but doesn't feel as panicky as I thought it should), and yet to watch someone later do it... seeing the angles at which the wheels are going and the degree to which its tipping is just incredible...fantastic design...

I want one now

Currently living just outside Cardiff mate, will mention that event to my mate.....think my missus is converted now too

Will have to get one for a toy oneday, the majority of what me and my mate get upto isn't propper offroading, we just go driving with the OS map, and depart from the road when we decide we want to go "over there"

Had some VERY cool looks when we just decide to go off up this bank, rather than pulling in to let traffic past, especially so from the "mums on the school run" all in their 4x4 Discoverys, thinking "what the fuck did he just do?" lol

As I said at the time I was convinced I'd manage to get it stuck in 4ft of saturated mud but it was so different to what I expected.
Much more timing and pre determining where you wanted to go and how you were going to avoid sliding off the other way than worrying about if this lump is going to make it through in 1st...it was bumpy, but not jerky as maybe id expected...wasn't an uncomfortable movement..so yes...I'll be hijacking one I think

Incredible also that I didn't need some kind of booster seat...I was very impressed

Sorry Alan, not had the best last few weeks

Anyway, I'll pass that on to Jay and see you soon

This is Jays effort that we christened "Shitzuki", stands him in about £150 with a years mot [and even better, it's cost me fuck all and I still get to enjoy it ], just needs a new gearbox mount and the lift kit fitted and we're ready to go back in the deep stuff The tyres were robbed off a Daewoo Musso my old man bought to sell

Jay trying to burn the clutch out

Taken at a Thames Valley 4x4 day at Speen, near Newbury.

Eagle - Never mind about your mates suzuki, this 1 litre fart box has put bigger things than Alans Diso to shame
