Gareth,i asked on the phone to the insurers what they wanted, and he said, take it to an independant mechanics,so not vauxhall (still not sure why, they aint exactly gonna back me up if its dodgy just because i bought an old nova! ),like an MOT station, then on headed paper do a report saying that the conversion is roadworthy!if you can find someone in the barry area that would be IDEAL mate, worth some beverages for ya!

Greig mate, the SEngO at work would be mroe than qualified to do you one dude.....how can the insurers argue with that, they guy at the very least will have a BEng degree, most likely a MEng and will almost certainly be a Chartered Engineer, registered with the Engineering Council.

If he can sign a CRS on an aircraft, I'm sure he can satisfy your insurers that the engine isn't going to drop out

You mention, "when you got insured", so the policy is live, yes? If so, your insurance company/broker should have sent you some paperwork

Sorry but I see it all the time working in the industry, in all fairness to you, if they've fucked up, make em pay, might be able to get out of having one for the first year or something like that!

Also if your still in the 14 day "cooling off" period, walk away from the policy and get your money back, go somewhere where they dont need one

i got insured over the phone,i didnt get the paperwork till today! you dont get paper work till after youre insured! im not overly bothered, but they could have mentioned it so i could sort it out,as i nearly didnt come home this weekend to get my mail,so wouldnt have known till the end of the 14day period that i had to have one!ah well
