Default Escos + tree @ 60, oops

Well, it's a sad day for my Escort, but I've been told it's dead!!!

I had a little bit of a problem with a tight corner, a loose bit of plastic under the dash, and no way to get onto the brakes. After this a big old tree jumped out in front and stopped me.

Front crossmember is out of line, transmission tunnel buckled, roof twisted at the back.

I can't afford to just scrap it. Nor can I afford to repair it. Anyone got any ideas?

Insurance was fine, just don't want to loose no claims, and don't want to see the car written off and never on the road again.
If I had the money, I'd love to reshell, I just don't have it.
I've spent the past two days trying to decide what to do with her, and just thought I'd see if anyone had any good ideas.
I've had her for over 6 years, and before the smash, she was hitting 60 in about 4 seconds, and topping out at 160. It would be a real shame for all that to go to waste.

ok, so you can't affaord to reshell, you can't affaord to scrap it, and you can't affaord to have 2 years ncb nocked off because you put a claim in.

looks like your screwed

60 in about 4 seconds - i'm sure that Rod Tarrys motor doesn't do it in that time, and he has 600+ horses to play with

Why would you NOT claim on the insurance, if you can't afford to reshell it?

That's sort of the point of insurance........ so that you're... er.... insured?

I agree.... and if you have had it for 6 years then surely you have protected no claims anyway???

Also there is no way the car impacted the tree at 60mph!
