Default Come on Boffins. PC problem!!

Right, this is a tough one to explain!!

We have a problem viewing some websites from our Dell Latitude D610 Laptop, It doesn't affect very many, infact the only one I can think of is Autotrader. This is part of the Autotrader Advanced Search page when viewed on a normal PC......

This is how we see it on the problem Laptop.......

You can see that some of the text is out of place and the 'Search' button is hidden under the advert!

This problem isn't just isolated to the Internet. This is a screen of a certain piece of software viewed on a normal PC.....

This is what we get on the Laptop......

You can see that most of the table is missing, therefore we can't make the required adjustments!! You can't scroll to it. We have tried everything we can think of, including every screen resolution option.

WTF can it be?

No point me calling Dell, can you imagine trying to explain that one to Banjit or Gupter.

check the drivers

also check Control panel > Display> settings > advanced> and check the DPI settings are at 96

also is the font size changed under Control panel > Display > appearance > should be set to normal.

Dell will tell you it's a software issue, and to reinstall windows

If it happens on several bit's of software, then it could possibly be a display driver issue, however, uninstalling and reinstalling it, or updating it may not fix it. Deffo worth a shot. Failing that, maybe configure windows font's to make the text smaller, may result in it fitting in the colums correctly.

Spot on!!

So, what is the 120DPI setting for then?

Is it normal for al the Windows Icons to now be very spread out?
