Anyone know anything about Toyota Starlet GT Turbos?
My brother is looking at buying one, just want to know any tips on bits to service etc

oh yeah dont get me wrong they are nippy as fook tho if u wanna up the boost u need to buy a fuel cut defenser thingy which wires or plugs into the ecu from memory but can be made to go quite bloody quick and theyre only a 1.3 lol

Ive had one of these for about 4 years now.
Not really had too many problems with them. Usual sorts of stuff to look out for, but common problems seem to be electric windows (140 a motor), rear brake calipers (handbrake adjustor sticks) and the water pump is pretty horrible to change.
Only thing id say is unlike most turbos its not easy to get much more out of them without changing a fair bit. Fuel cut hits at 13psi, turbo is only good for that (when its being efficient), so id just leave it at 10psi.

just taken it out for a spin, they are an absolute scream to drive
He's been driving like a pansy all day with it on low boost so I went out with it on high boost, scared the life out of him
Took his dump valve off for him too, he wasn't sure at first but loves the chatter now

not got any at the mo, he brought it round in the dark lol
Was gonna take some pics on my phone when he got some petrol but I got told off by the bloke in the station
I'll get some ASAP though
I think he will be getting a front mount as soon as he pays my parents some cash back lol
