Default FAO Computer experts, reference a Microsoft WPS document?

I have been sent a document in WPS format, but my computer cannot read it, its the works computer running XP and lotus notes.

Can i view it through a web based program, or have i got to get the sender to re-send in a different format?

Many thanks

yes .wps is a MS Works document file extension. There is an option in MS Word to open/translate Works format files.

if youve got lotus smartsuite then you'll need to see if there's a convertor for wordpro. OR download microsoft word viewer (free) from microsofts website.

SO get them to resend it ina PROPER non-crap format

It's an installable text converter option when u install Office - allows you to open .wps files directly. If you don't have it then you will need to install from the Office installation disc.
There may be other ways to get to it, like Jim is suggesting.

Personally I like Works, it's one of the few MS products that does what it says with no bollox or mind of it's own, it doesn't reformat documents for you when it feels like it, there's no stupid paperclip that tries to change stuff as you type...
