cause the K&N filter always always clog up (oiled or not oiled), they are a bitch 2 clean and last but not least the fuking fall apart

I've personally always used ITG due to design of there 3 layer foam system, which i personally think is a far superior design 2 K&N's

The fact they don't fall apart and u rarely have to clean them, oh and they look better too

Fair play!!

However, they aren't that bad to clean. I buy a large bottle of cleaner and the smallest can of Oil (not the Recharge kit). Then spray it with cleaner, leave it to soak for half an hour, then rinse it off with Tap-water. Then leave it to dry before re-oiling it. As long as you don't let it get too awful, it should be easy-peasy and not give any problems.

I personally prefer Cotton filters to Foam ones. The HKS ones are AWFUL. I wouldn't put on of those on my car if it was free.

Well, I am confident that the HKS filter would come out top for performance in any test, however, it doesn't really filter very much, so you might aswell not have a filter!!

Remember power isn't the only factor in which filter is best.

If the K&N is clogging up, at least that crap that is clogging it up isn't getting into the engine. It just shows that it needs cleaning more often.

Got one. £195 delivered from PTS.

Got a PiperX on the saff which is just fine, went for the K&N for the Focus as Piper only do the bloody max power thing and it's about £300, not my cup of tea. Don't think the K&N will be very visible on the FRS anyway.

Saw a Piper one on e-bay advertised for the FRS, got in touch with Piper about the model no. and they said they canned it as it actually generated a LOSS under testing!
