i seemed to have picked up some adware/spyware and am havin truble gettin rid of it i've tried doing a nortan scan and doesnt pick anything up and i've run ad-aware and that picks it up and deletes it but when i restart my comp it just comes back

well it changes my home page to some other search page "about:blank" wat comes up in the adress and i get a little pop up thats always the same saying that i have a infected comp with ad-ware etc.

that help any?

 

spybot search and destroy or hijack this will normally sort it
if not do a google search "why does my homepage keep changing"
and see what it says
i had the same problem and thats how i sorted it

 

is spy bot any different to ad-aware6? as i said when i run it, it does find it and delete it but then it just comes back after i reboot

cheers mate i got spy sweeper and thats seems to have sorted it for now, but spy sweeper made my comp go all funny so whether it lasts only time will tell.....lol

you may also want to keep a copy of HijackThis handy

 

HijackThis wats that mate??? before i was running just ad-aware6 but now i got that spy bot spy sweaper and the one u recomended......lol

 

it is another program similar to ad aware, but it is specifically made to prevent home page hijacking (what happened to you)
