its the way the customers get treated!! to be honest all the other companies are probably the same!!! its just i get a good veiw of what the customers get and how they get treated!!!
i work in the billing and customer support call centre, and a lot of people i speak to on the fone are over 70 and have no idea what broadband is!! all they wanna do is email once a week to their daughter/son/friend and tiscali sell them a 2 meg bb line at Ł20 a month!!!!!!!!!
it sould be illeagal, but saying that im sure the other companies are the same!!!

Yeah, that's the only good thing about Tiscali......when they took over the dial-up company I was with, years ago (LineOne), they forgot to change my billing up by Ł5.99 per month......for 2.5 years!
Got a letter to say they weren't going to try to claim back all the money for that time, which is good of them, because I never received any notification of the price-change in the first place!
Oh, and their tech-support (no offence intended, jamesers20004x4, this was from about 10 years ago) was absolutely abysmal and about as technical as a bucket of cement...

they have lost the contract cos there so shite and its coming back to the uk next year!!!!
Right, ill give you a good tip to get your BB cheaper, fone up the billing line 0870 744 9966 and if you are outside your 12 month contract you tell em youve found a better deal and wanna canx, they should try and keep your custom and offer you either 2meg for the price of 1meg or keep what your on and cut the price!!!!! it can defo be done as ive seen my team manager do it!!!!!!!

unless you have had some serious technical problems you would have to pay up the 12 month contract, ie if your on 2meg Ł17.99 a month and wanna canx at month 9 you would have to pay the last three payments to canx!!!
its all in the t's and c's!!! as we have to say when people ask on the fone!!!!!

i've had BB with Force 9 - www.f9.co.uk - for a couple of years now, no problem at all, monthly or yearly contract, your choice.

Yep, just to add about Tiscali.... they gotta strange idea of what 'unlimited' means.
I'm with them on their 2 Mb connection - the data rate during the evening (peak) is total shite anyway and I guess they must also be limiting P2P downloads? My downloads are often less than 10k second. (should be 200k).
But funnily enough... come midnight or early hours the bandwidth is suddenly 'unthrottled' and I can get 200k download. Just when I'm off to bed.
