Default 4x4 saff is dead

My saff died yesterday with no apparent reason. It has always ran a minter, then i got out, got back in 5mins later and it wont start. The starter motor doesnt even engage. Ive tried a new battery and overiding the alarm. Still no luck, any ideas?

run a wire stright from the battery to the starter, it it cranks then you know you have duff wiring (alarm perhaps?) if it doesnt you havea diff starter (or solenoid)

mine's been doing the same thing, but mine's an intermittent wiring fault somewhere

Easy now graceland!!
Sorted my car now.
It was the thin wire that clips in to the harness behind the battery, i must have disturbed it when changing the battery.
Cheers to all who helped!

i've toyed with the petrol and matches idea before with my car, i know how frustrating a simple wire can make your day

was it the black wire with the red trace that had come unclipped from the connector next to the battery?
