Default Anyone insured with Elephant?

Hi, i'm insured with Elephant at the moment and they've just sent my renewal through, and thought it was a bit steep...

So i went onto the elephant site and put all my details in, pretending to be a new customer, and it was £500 cheaper!!!

Has anyone else had this; if so, what did you do about it?

Yeah i had problems with my quote from Elephant there complete wankers

I had a half decent quote from them for my ST170 just as i bought it, but they upped the quote when I told them i had previously made a claim for someone crashing into MY parked car but i had drivers details and taken it to court and recovered ALL repair costs so it wasnt even a claim. Elephant said sorry we got to up your quote cos your now 50% more likely to make another claim within 12 months of the last claim ...... WANKERS I was stuck because i was picking up my ST so had to go with the quote, but renewal i got a really good quote from Norwich union (£280 cheaper) and told Elephant exactly what it thought of them and there rip off insurance policys and why even if they were the same price as norwich union i wouldnt take insurance with them again!

BTW they dropped nearly £100 off my renewal quote to try and match Norwich union

just ring them up and ask them why its gone up

HIC did the same with me, went up £100 from the previous year, so i rang them up to ask, and if they want me to renew my policy they will have to do better, and they did

Elephant are toilet, 90% of the time they don't actually know what model of car they quote you on.

They made a mistake with my policy and quoted me for a golf gti as opposed to a gti anniversary. It took 3 phone calls to get it adjusted and then they charged me another £180 for my trouble!!!

It took a few snotty letters, threats of watchdog and solicitors before I got my money back.

They are bobbins and can shove their policy up their arris!!!!!

if you do an online quote, put on a named driver like a partner/mum or dad and it WILL be cheaper!

Which was nice.

Hi Gaz..

Just seen your predicament..

Coming down £500 for new customers vs existing customers is utter madness.

Processing a new case is 10 times the admin of an existing one, when will these people learn that busing in business then hiking renewals trying to claw back the discount is:

1) Unfair - discriminates against existing customers

2) Does Not make commercial sense due to the work involved

3) Gives the Insurance industry a bad name

Seriously though, if you need a quote i'd be happy to help.

Just pop onto www.greenlightinsurance.com/passion_ford.php enter your details for an online quote, or call us on 01277 263030 for a quotation

Kind regards

Tony

Tony - i wish i'd read your reply earlier

I think it's sorted now as they said they'd honour the cheaper price - although i'm annoyed at the effort i've had to go to to sort it out. I also say 'think' it's sorted; he said it had to be approved by a manager and i'd be called in 48 hours if there was a problem. If not, i should assume it's all okay. Great - just what i wanted to do when spending all that money, assume it's all okay without actually knowing

Thankyou for your reply however; i have three cars and when the next one comes up for renewal i'll definately get a quote from you. Does it have to be a Ford to get the passionford discount?

Thanks,

Gareth
