Default dip stick on frst question

if your dipstick was not in correctly and you was givin it some big right foot is it possible for any oil to get up or not?

ok just found out it was that cus when i rev it i can see the dipstick rising, next question is why is this hapening, is it cus a pipe somewere is blocked or is it cus the seal on the dipstick has seen better days , now this engine is in top condition and has never been chipped or played with and does not burn any oil, its standard running 5psi, aany help on thius one??

sounds like a blocked breather mate.

mine popped out at 140 in the sx and covered the fookin bay in oil

Possible breather problems, or rings (and it doesn't have to burn oil)

But if you recon the dipstick is dodgy, that has to be the first thing to change

st3v3 i can say its not the rings this car and engine is mint and never been ragged i now the history of the car, i think its a breather problem , whats the best oil separator to use for the frst, iv got a grs on my erst everybody says ther pants, but i use the open loop breather system on the mfi and its made such a differance and wud recomend it ,but the mfi is abit differant , anybody no whats best..

thanks ste im off on wed as well, i was going to change the rocker gasket as at first i thought it might of been that but iv watched the dipstick rise up as i give it alot of revs, the thing is its never done it b4, and can anybody tell me how your rings can be gone and it not use any oil? surely if oil gets past your rings it will burn oil? wont it??

You can have the gas from the cylinder leaking down into the block (and therefore popping out the dipstick) but the leak doesn't have to be big enough to let oil into the cylinder for it to burn.

I had a CVH that people used to think was on fire because of all of the gas coming out under the bonnet

Used next to feck all oil though...
