Default Coilpack and electrical interference???

What do i need to know with respect to mounting my coilpack and its proximity with other electrical components???

I realise it could cause some problems due to interference, but how close is too close........???

Any advice?

aslong as it is not mounted within 6 to 8 inch of the map sensor then you should be fine

So its only really the map sensor that needs to be worried about..???

Thats a shame as the space i have for it is about 5 inches below the map sensor

ok, will look at moving it elsewhere then...

Thanks

map sensor is the main one aye, 5" should be fine tho - you could make a bling little metal plate to go between them to dampen any interfearence

Surely the map sensor is smaller and easier to put somewhere else?? If you've found a good place for the coilpack!!

No not really........

I dont want to put the map sensor Turbo side because of the heat, obviously it has to be below the plenum for the pipework to be routed correctly, and the only place is a small panel about 6 inches wide by 12 inches high.

It already has my map sensor on it, and did have a conventional coil mounted near the bottom of the panel about 5 inches away.......

seems a shame now having removed the old coil to have the space and not fill it, especially when space is at such a premium

a sheild around the map sensor - nothing fancy, just a piece of stainless or something like that

If its any use my map sensor is at the bottom of the passenger footwell on a ali bracket and the coilpack is at the top on the battery shelf. At lease 10 inch apart and a fair bit metal between them.
