Default My new engine spec what do you think?

EEC4 block
Linered
Forged racing pistons with cut outs
Big ported head 25mm in 26mm out
Secret cams
Brand new std crank
Balanced rods
Std genuine bearings
All Grp A bolts
WRC long studded
WRC 4 layer head gasket
Std 2wd sump
4 x 1000cc injectors
EEC4 inlet manifold and throttle body
RS500 Intercooler
GT30 with external wastegate.
7.9-1 comp ratio
Weber Level 8 ECU
Mapped by Karl Norris

Apparently this will feel like a T34 .63 so spool up time not too bad but rev to 8k making around 550bhp The ultimate road engine? Was going GT35 BUT realistically on pump fuel i am only going to get 550bhp because of comp ratio so a bit pointless having the xtra lag.Of course on race fuel i'd be knocking on 700bhp with the 1.06 housing but i couldnt get that on the road as 102ron is expensive

Only messing pal. Good luck and lets actually see it in action when its done

Will be in very soon, just trying to locate a EEC4 plenum cover,rs500 type intercooler, waiting for injectors, thats about it bar the turbo..so as you say i will most probably just bung the rally turbo i have on the Saff currently, on it to run it in as the map i have from Karl is for this engine but on a gt35 so will be no bother off boost

Probably not,i hope you all understand Cosworths are a passion for myself and not for others...i love speccing and building etc...trouble is once this engine is running i am liable to get bored and spec it differently The Escos is near enuff finished now and it would be a shame to keep changing things so that will be kept as is and the spec is pretty good did i mention the suspension? The Sapp is for fucking about with

I tried a Skyline but didnt do owt for me (R32 GTR) nearly went STi Scooby (new shape) but i couldnt get away from Cosworth hence the Escos

What with the 1000cc injectors, your chosen mapper wont touch it when he realises they were mine. Remember those injectors will expect to see Torque & guess why that aint going to happen .

Strongest block which runs oil jets for better piston cooling, the plenum is bigger than the 4x4 thus allowing upto 550bhp whereas the 4x4 around 460bhp Larger throttle giving better off boost drivability...etc etc

I would be cautious about doing that Phil, even off boost the differing turbine housings result in a potential fueling requirement difference as the pumping losses are still different off boost.

It would be prudent to get the fuelling checked.

A larger throttle wont make it drive better off boost.

The oil squirters are a very good idea though, if im building a big power turbo engine and there arent squirters already i will machine the block to install them, its something people often overlook!

Compression is too high in my opinion. You will have to run capped boost or (like you ) heavily retarded ignition.

Capped in the midrange only i assume you mean Mike?
It wont be a problem at high rpm.

That may fit in with what Phil wants, it certainly suits me with how i like to spec FWD turbo engines and anything with a fragile gearbox!

Phil, why the secret cams? Are you worried the tuners will rip off your ideas?

Seriously though, it sounds good. All the best with it

I will answer that on Phils behalf in his absense as he often comments on how much he enjoys it when i do that, its either:

A) they are specced by a tuner who doesnt want details given
B) phil has picked a couple of off the shelf cams and doesnt want to say what
C) phil is having a laugh, by poking fun at tuners who give spec lists that are bascially useless info as they dont give cam details
