my old zetec turbo xr3i wont start. i dont have the car in front of me so i am trying to help him over the phone. basically it is getting fuel and a strong spark but refuses to fire. was fine yesterday but today it refuses to start. fookin thing! i havent been near the car for best part of 6 months so i cant really familiarise myself with it. it runs ofab by the way. just had new turbo fitted last week. do you think they could have disturbed somthing? would it spark if the crank sensor was dodgy?

i know it wouldnt start with a dodgy cps but would it still spark if it was dodgy?

try the coolant temp sensor mate, if this goes tits up and tells the ecu its hot when in actual mfact its cold, itll be like trying to start a carbd lump without the choke on. i had this problem but in the reverse, the ecu would try and start it in cold mode when it was hot and it woudnt have it!

try starting it with the throttle at different positions to see if this gets it chugging.

disconnect an injector (any one, doesnt matter) this will adjust the mixture to all injectors and might get it going.
