anone use ministumbler etc with pocket pc? ( wardriving )
whilst i dont want to discuss the very iffy aspect of wardriving as its illegal and a iffy topic to discuss
so im asking connection questions
i have ministumbler installed on my ipaq, driving around it finds all sorts of signals, a short drive up the shop just now found 15
some had padlock signs on them some amber lights some green etc
how do i physicly connect ? i think i enabled auto connect, but when i stopped at a green location and then clicked explorer or msn messenger it cant conect or find the webpage?
once a location is found do i have to stop it scanning?
how do i get online with it?
ie setting up my wireless lan wifi thingy on my ipaq according to the findings of netstumbler etc

All netstumbler/ministumbler will do is show you what access points are around, it won't enable you to connect to them.
To connect to an access point you'll need specific IP settings (unless the AP has dhcp enabled), an SSID and possibly passwords. Even then you might not be able to connect if they have mac filtering enabled.

hmmn i stumbled on a ap and played fopr a bit, done a soft reset on the ipaq and loaded up wireless and created a standard profile and it gave a signal and internet was established?
why does a reset make that possible?
