Default anyone use Belkin routers ?

I have been trying to setup my belkin router corectly so I can download torrents, I need to setup a port for the data to transfer through.

If I go to Application gateway on my router settings I get 2 fields to fill in

trigger port and public port.

When I setup my Downloader (azureus) for which port it should see and I enter the number , for example 13000 and then test it I get a failed message.

How exactly do I fill in the 2 fields in my application settings ?

Hopefully someone knows exactly what i mean as I'm clueless with this and its doing my head right in lol

Cant you just enable upnp? If its a new router it should support it. Port forwarding can be a pain in the bottom. Speak to belkin tech on monday.

Just to cheer you up, belkin is the worse gear I have ever configured. Buy something better if you really struggle.

Good luck.

I had a Google around and came up with this Jonny...

http://www.portforward.com/english/r...outerindex.htm

They list quite a few Belkin routers there, I'm sure yours will be in that list somewhere.

Cheers,

Andy

I'm pretty sure this is close enough?

Sounds like the model number of your router is just denoting that it's the UK version?

http://www.portforward.com/english/r...-4/Azureus.htm

Looks like it's the right one!

Andy

Queue position? Try right clicking and the torrent and selecting 'Force start'

It'll probably come up with the status as a yellow face until you set your MAC settings, but I haven't bothered and get very good speeds with it on the little yellow man

Could you Alt + Print Screen us a screengrab of the error message you're getting?

Cheers,

Andy

The alt and print screen thing isn't working

something must now be working as Nortons just blocked a supposed intrusion attempt ?

it gives me the source Ip address and destination ip address

does norton need switching off or has someone now got access to my pc ?

Ahh, you'll have to add the 'port' you've opened up as a friendly port or whatever Norton calls it. Its not being attacked, just your Azureus software is now trying to access it and Norton is saying 'nah, sorry pal'

Cheers,

Andy

Mine comes up with this error as well - it's to do with setting up MAC addresses, it still works as it should when downloading torrents.

Time to try it out on those links I sent you I think!

Cheers,

Andy
