Tiff,

Sell these cars to me please

Just looked at a few over the last week same year as yours for between Ł12 - Ł15.5k, they do drive well and seem very well screwed together.

BUT......................... I just can't bring myself to spend Ł15k on a mondeo that no one will look twice at and if they do, assume I'm a carpet salesmen from Slough or similar Also, I figure it'll be worth fook all in a couple of years

Decisions, decisions

It won't lose anymore than any other car of it's size and value; yes of course it will depreciate but so will it's competitors. Mondeo's have the best resale value that they've ever had; and lots of people aren't snobby about what the badge is - aren't you a bit more of a grown up than to be worried about things like that?

My ST220 done me proud and is an awesome car; so it's it's diesel sister car.

The badge, if that matters to you, is irrelevant - it's a machine and a badge doesn't change a machine's capabilities. Cars such as the Vauxhall Monaro suffer similar things said about them; a shame as they're excellent.

Guys, I'm not a snob and the badge isn't the issue

The issue for me is there are plenty of other cars (from higher end manufacturers) albeit older and more miles for the same if not less cash. I'm not bothered about running costs either so that dosen't play a part.

Just think that Ł15k for a rep mobile with big wheels dosen't seem like money well spent

What makes the "higher end manufacturers" different then????

I looked at Audi A4 TDi Estates at the same time i got the Mondeo.........and imho the Mondeo won in all areas apart from not having 4 rings on the front

If you read the press reviews of the ST TDCi it puts it against the A4 and the 3 Series BMW......And like they said, If your not worried about what your neighbours think then the Ford is THE best buy

I AM worried about what the neighbours think though

I don't want them to think '' look at that twat next door only spent Ł15k on a bloody mondeo with big wheels and max power bolts ons'' as opposed to ''look dear, he next doors just bought a new Audi, BMW, Merc etc'', no other details matter
