Default TOTB3 Progress report.

My schedule for completion is as follows:-

July 22nd AM. Pick car up from Fabricators who have fitted custom exhaust, Airbox & Turbo Hanger. Drive car home under its own Power for the first time in 12 months,
July 22nd PM. Wrap exhaust, Fit new breather system.

July 23rd Take car to Zoo motorsport to set up suspension.

July 24th Finish off Nitrous system, Fit Lambda gauge, Fit new steering joint & loads of odds & sods.

25th-27th At Mark Sheads to finish ECU install, check, service ,set-up & road map.

28th To R-R for atw figures if car is complete, if not this can wait untill after totb3.

29th or 30th Brunters for complete shakedown & Topspeed testing.

Sounds easy but every schedule so far has slipped , but myself/Mark are giving it our best shot.
Cheers Rod

Glad your sorted mate....

but how do u set suspension with out testin it ?

I know theory and settings is all very good but surely its also down to personal taste in the car and on the track ? i am guessing you aint drivin it again ?

confused to how you can set suspension high on the list when car aint been finished engine wise to be honest.

Keeeeeef m8, jus wondering if them filters are good for 500+bhp each, they dont look very big...

Be a bit of a downer if they not good enough, or will they be removed for the mapping?

Ive seen a car that was dynod at about 630bhp fitted with the biggest Blitz cone fitted and it restricted it so much it caused the filter-turbo pipe to implode which basicly stops all the airflow, causing the car to cough and almost stall. (obviously only way to know this is happeniing is seing it with bonnet open when driven flat out on a RR or summat...)

Wacked a cossie style "GrpA" cone back on it and it was totaly fine

Then again, your turbos are both that massive it probably makes the filters seem smaller than they really are... lol

Itsmeagain

These filters are 4" inlets and are about 10" in diameter they are huge
ramair told me that they will flow almost 600 bhp each.

but it does not matter as they were fitted for running in the engine on the road
when we map the car and race it the filters will not be there.

The set-up is part of the Zoo motorsport rear beam kit. So perhaps Sean can say what they do.
The car will do the handling course this time, only clue Mark aint drivin it on the handling course.

Very true Ding, very true. Mark fitted Rods beam for him as Rod couldn't get the car up to us. We are basically making sure that everything is pointing in the same direction. The geometry will be set pretty conservativly, plus we have done enough of these now to know what works. But I do agree with your statement regarding "personal taste" etc etc.

Lets hope your "personal taste" for suspension geometry is better than your "pesonal taste" for clothes and hair styles, or your car will be spending more time on the grass than the track!!
