I Was doing the weekly rumage round the scrap yard today and saw a lovely jag xj6. V12 engine, white leather, real wood trim, allmost unmarked paint, and thought why is this here. Unfortunatley it had a vauxhall on top of it but engine and gear box are now mine. Anyone else seen anything rare/unsual in a scrap yard?.

Theres a almost complete Noble M12 in Doncaster Scrappy! Its been there about a year and they haven't started stripping it as the insurance isn't settled!!!!

Saw a Jag XJS that had been made into a bananna with a tree. Apparently the driver walked away with only minor injuries. You wouldn't have beleived it seeing the wreck

About 12 years ago in a cardiff scrappy was a rolls royce,burnt out and the only thing on it that was left was the wheels it was well and truly fookerd!!

spotted what looked like a sapph cos 4x4 out the corner of my eye at a local one, climbed up on 2 cars (but unstable lol) and lifted the bonnet to find a shitty glx engine

Needless to say the bonnet (4x4) was minty mint with the bonnet protection, bought for 50 quid, sold for 280 on ebay

nothing major for me.. although i did see a stack of busted mclaren SLR wheels in the one at pease pottage a few years ago.
i believe they were shipped ther after being used for some kind of testing.

Sod all around here.
They actually send off anything interesting to specialist breakers around the country.
Anything else gets crushed as soon as it arrives, to avoid the H&S hassle of storing them and letting folk scavenge.
10 years ago you could spend a day in your local scrappy, pocket a few things and pay for a few others. Everyone was happy. Not anymore.

they do that to cars which are still going through the claim,i.e not yet settled,most of these cars above have most likely been seen in "salvage yards" and not your run of the mill scrap yards with the bloke with one eye, four fingers and three massive dogs!
