Best to go to the MS forums for info but IMO it's a backward step, the code is very basic.

i have used megasdquirt ecu's on rs turbo engines and the 24v v6 cossie engine and the all worked fine. You need a little knowledge to do the wiring and i suggest you creatre a new loom rather than modifying yours as if the MS ecu fries/dies then u will be stuffed...

Check the megasquirt website for all the info..... www.megasquirt.info

And as for the code being basic...wtf it works well on any engine and has more adjustable parameters than many of the leading aftermarket ecu's at a fraction of the cost!

go 4 it m8y!

MS is just a hundred quid or so, depending on if you buy a kit or a ready made one. advantages over L8 or P8 include being able to map it yourself, wideband lambda support with self learning for the fuel map using target AFR values, coil pack support, etc, etc.

as it is fully upgradeable, you can add extra features as you like as they are developed by members of the MS community.

if you want to know about it properly, read the MS forums

You don't need to make a new loom. I have a MS on my Dohc 4i. All i did was use a plug from an old ecu and wire the MS to that. Advantage is the ford loom has all the fuses, relays and plugs fitted, and you can always change back to the cossie ecu
