Default had a prob today:(

Hi all, was on the way to work when the car started acting funny..

1st all when i went to accelerate the engine started feeling week as if it was on 2 cylinders then it just cut out i tried to start it but it wouldnt, i then check for airleaks and plugs etc but all good

then i removd the water cap and it smelt of fuel a bit im thinking the headgasket has gone but the temp is fine and i saw no white smoke and the heaters are still giving out hot air - i have noticed that the car needs to be topped up with water every day

what do i do

If it needs it's water topping up every day... that water is going somewhere!

deffinately sounds like head gasket to me. lack of power and cutting out etc would indicate a lack of compression plus the classic loss of water etc.

a damp coil doesn't explain water loss though?
