Max power on standard 4x4 intercooler
What is roughly the maximum power you can achieve with a regular stage 3 conversion on a t34.48 running a 4x4 intercooler?
Best to change to a 500 style one or is the 4x4 one still efficient up to the 360/380hp range?
Cheers Paul

Best to change to a 500 style one - Yes definitely. Heat is the enemy.
or is the 4x4 one still efficient up to the 360/380hp range - I doubt it unless its -10c outside.

I agree with mat I bet the charge temps would be very high at that power on the standard intercooler.

If you can, skip the 500 standard and go for something like the airtec 500 style 100mm and I think the ultimate is prob the spec r.

I think the 100mm airtec is a little overkill for under 400hp.
I myself will go for the 100mm airtec or spec r cooler but I'm looking at 650hp+

Low intake temps are good no matter the power, I think you can get smaller airtec ones which weigh less.
I found at 469 bhp that my temps were 20 degrees higher on the rs500 one compared to airtec at peak.
I guess it depends what you have to pay for the rs500 in comparison but given the choice I would go overkill but that's just my personal opinion.

I think even an RS500 one is becoming inefficient at 400 bhp..compared to alternatives, sure it will be ok but you will still see quite high intake temps, especially on a hot day.

I said rs500 style (like airtec etc,) not literally an rs 500 item.
He's def not gonna buy a spec-r cooler for a grand for use on a stage 3+ under 400hp
