I'm going to be using their 36-1 Alternator, Crank, Water Pump Toothed Pulley kit on my 3 Door, I'd advise spending the extra to have them Hard Anodized.

I am thinking exactly that, I did not see an option for hard anodized on the size and was thinking of buying bare and getting my local shop to do it.
Did they give you a price for hard anodizing Rich, also did you find anyone thats been using their gear ?
I have asked them about how to run the power steering with the kit, did you have a plan for that ?

Hard Anodizing is another £5 per pulley (well worth in IMHO)
As for running the PAS pump see this thread for the discussion:

Wow, alloy block up to 2700cc, I bet even at 2.5 you could build a nice torque monster?

I think "fulla" just paid over £3k for the one Harvey Gibbs is building or him.

28kilo saving on the front axle is a massive saving...I wonder how many horsepower it would take to counteract a 28kg weight penalty and what the cost would be for the extra power?

Thing is with day you can't take what he says as always the truth lol. I know Darren from Whitspeeds brother is putting one in is mk2 and I was under the impression he payed about 7 grand for it. But it's a different make to the one above. A fat driver could spunk that 28 kg lol I'd rather use a 200 with liners and keep the change

Lol, he is famous around these parts eh? I haven't ever met him but I know Al very well (the rubber matting bloke....he also supplies welding gas and is probably the guy with the widest Vw knowledge I have ever met)

Stuart sold me a rocker cover via Al and has given a few good bits of advice.

We used to have a bloke at school who apparently had everything but when we asked to see it.....it was "in the loft"

Yes really famous .
He is called Fulla & that sums him up. He has owned the fastest Cossie in the world for around 15 years. Its strange he's never said that to me but im sure he will have told Andy .

one thing I will say about stu is he seems to have a lot of money now lol and I mean a lot! That red escort is a serious spec track car! It's a famous shell and he is going to restore it as he is having a new One built but 4x4 this time. That's what his new engine is for. His rs500 is nice as well but he likes to keep that quiet lol
