Oh right thought as much. Noticed that extra bit on the head of the dummy engine in the window at burton power and thought that must be for the damper.
so to clarify, yes they do fit 4wd heads just not ST escos although I did see on here a while ago someone grafted a piece onto the ST cam cover to carry the damper.

is it important to have the damper? ive got a small turbo cylinder head on mine with a 2wd manifold and t3 turbo but no where to bolt the damper, was just wondering if it makes much of a difference/cause any damage to the engine without it? sorry if i sound like a wolly i dont understand the dampers job/purpose?

they can pull exhaust studs out of the head if not fitted with a 2wd manifold, doesnt seem to be a problem with 4x4 manifold though

I've recently lost bolts from the manifold to head, manifold to trouser section and out of the compressor housing which ended up damaging the turbo.
I've had an RS500 damper laying about in my garage for a while but never thought about using it until I found out the hard way
Guess I'll be on the look for a 4wd manifold now, do you know if the exhaust will still line up the same at the back of the turbo atall?
No, It will work but the front section of exhaust will sit low, you need to take about 25mm IIRC out of the downpipe to get the exhaust to fit correctly.
You also need to rotate the turbine and compressor housings slightly to get everything to line up.
