Default Removal of complete running gear question?

Hi lads,

I hope more experienced clientele like yourselves can help me with this...

What is the best procedure for removal of running gear for my Saff?

I have it planned like this:

1: Engine out
2: Box
3: Driveshaft
4: Diff
5: Back axle, hubs, suspension etc
6: Front crossmember, steering rack, hubs, susp etc
7: Interior

I have a lift and a spacious garage and a forklift if needed!

As far as I know, the whole lot can be taken out in one go but don't want to do this as I want to take it all apart, clean and paint individual bits, then reassemble.

A bit of advice for me would be great as this is the first time I have undertaken anything like this....also I'm not a mechanic but will have 2 mates who are mechanics, helping me.

I know the resto threads are here, I've read many.

Just want your opinions on my ''simple'' procedure above.

Cheers,

Philip.

Engine and box will come out in one go
Undo suspension top mounts
Undo steering shaft
Remove wires
Undo arb
Undo brake lines
Undo cross member
Undo gearbox cross member
Remove stick surround in the centre console
Lift car
Roll it out
Same with the rear
Suspension, beam mounts either side and diff mount plus brakes and arb

Removal of. Bumpers front and rear also helps

yup

it's just a lot heavier and it's worth while putting some plywood sheets underneath to help slide it out if your jack is too tall and your lift too short
