Fitted my Cobra Imolas into the 3 Door
First off sorry for the poor quality photo's they were all taken with my iPhone in generally poor lighting conditions
Here's a quick comparsion of the old Recaros and the new Cobra Imolas and the weight difference in huge the Imolas are so light:
We thought it would be alot easier to use the original bracket feet off the old runners as it would save alot of fabrication time and give a level stable platform here they are removed from the original base and bolted back up for some measuring:
I got a length of 65mm x 5mm mild steel bar which was the pricely sum of £10 for 6 meteres the shortest length available!!
I wish I had taken some more photo's at this point but the only one I have is once we had measured up and mounted the side rails along with welding the feet on:
We then had a quick test fit of the seats to make sure they fitted up all square:
We took them back out as the brackets looked abit gash and needed the ends trimming down and rounding off so we ended up with them like this:
Then they went off to the powder coaters 24 hours later they came back a lovely matt black finish:
As the I'm having harnesses fitted too we needed to add two extra eye bolt holes to the tunnel as the original seatbelt fixing point was on the side of the original frames:
And here are the seat all bolted up i'll get some better ones when I fit the harnesses next week:
