Picking clutch and power steering rack up on the 9th, get my gearbox dropped off from graham Monday/Tuesday as he's in France! ordered my powerflex bushes for car and msd solid beam mounts just now. As for propshaft after a chat with Ade500 earlier Im going too start build once the above bits are in my posession - mod the box bolt 2.8 flywheel to engine, ap 6paddle clutch too flywheel gearbox to engine then start full engine conversion and once all is done take my cossie diff and 4x4 mt75 diff to reco prop and have one made takes few days! As you can see above got my rear arms/engine cradle/mt75 rwd gearbox cradle back from powder coaters as soon as my bushes arrive (ordered tonight) will bolt together my rear beam,arms,diff,hubs,4x4 brakes!!!

I've got loads of bits stashed away for mine but its about 20 miles from me at a friends garage - I've had to wait for the better weather for the welder bloke to go down there, he's doing another stint on the weekend.

I might do a thread on it here when I get going again.

It's a ballache at times but reckon it'll be worth it in the end.

Trouble is I'll have to get my other Saff (also a ghia) on the road before I take apart the 4x4, (as I've decided to use the 'known' engine out of that.) otherwise I'll have nothing to get to work in - and that means finding another RWD MT75 as it's an auto with a dodgy box

That's handy to know , I'm just trying to find somewhere a little closer - don't get me wrong - I'm up for a drive to get what I want but just biding my time, we also run a load of couriers out of work daily, so I'm seeing if one of the fella's minds picking one up if it's not too far out of there travels.

So, gotta sort three Sierra's out !

not sure bud if i'm honest so my plan if i have time (as i want car at Rs Central) is to get a 5th gear and syncro(just incase)its only Ł40 for diesel gearbox, and get someone to open it up and see for me and if its got normal 5th gear get it swapped.

I have actually had a really good day today (firm I work for owes me Ł1500 in expenses sinse last year and paid half in my account today out the blue) also had a txt today from someone wanting my FRS engine bits thats another Ł400 (all money towards car) then 30 min ago I get an email from a mate HE HAS A PROP FOR ME ......
HAPY would be an under statement,I should have all my bits by 9th now and I will start my conversion

Right fella just been (he came for all my FRS Engine bits I had) I sold him everything just too get rid for Ł650 happy days.... Also whilst doing my superflex bushes, shims, hubs and 4x4 vented rear brakes together when I went to bolt to rear beam I noticed something so got wire brush and took paint off beam 2x big cracks so that got scrapped yesterday got a near on new one I collecting after work tomorrow off a mate Jon, solid rear beam mounts should be here tomorrow.
Plan of action for next week end is go help R4NN,get my clutch/power steering rack then get my engine mounts, tca's flywheel bolts come home and put new roof on garage and should be starting full build the following week!! Hopefully car should be ready just in time for Rs Central day

My interior arrived today courtesy of Gary@RSCLASSICS
Started to fit it after work but didn't get round to fitting door cards or rear side seat supports as it got too dark.

Right happy days yesterday I removed R4nss T5 gearbox for him picked up my 2wd power steering rack and ap 6paddle racing clutch kit then thanks to Ade500 picked up engine mounts, 2.8 flywheel bolts and front tca's. Also bought a 2nd hand low milage 2.5 tdci transit mt75 gearbox for 5th gear and countershaft now at some point this week will take both my box's to a specialist my dad knows to have gear changed over! Also this week got to go Burton Powers for sump kit so I can pull off sump to check chain and guides, now have my propshaft and New starter motor, tie rod ends and standard gearbox mount. will update pics later or tomorrow.

The 2.8 flywheels are almost 10kg lighter than the standard one or a 2.9 one!
