Default Dont think my Spec r dump valve is suited to my sapp

The story is I won a spec r dump valve off eBay last week it turned up and was as described and quickly delivered so all good today I fitted it but it don't sound right it's very quite like its not building up pressure to dump ? My mate bringing in to work tomorrow a baileys twin piston to see if that is better . My question is am I right in thinking I'm sure I've seen some ware that spec r valves are for 16psi and up ? My sapps is a stage 1 265bhp if it helps ,hope some one can shed some light please

guessing here , but if its not building enough pressure to open the dump valve ie to dump it , would you not hear it trying to stop the turbo ? chatter ?

i think some spec r and other brand dump valves will only dump at higher boost pressures

I have some kind of Forge copy dump valve I think, and it doesn't dump on low revs/boost. On low boost it just chatters when I get off the throttle. But say, 2500-3000 rpm letting off the gas pedal makes a nice dump sound.

Is it a used one? maybe the valve inside has sheared/split, and cousing trouble?

I run a spec r DV on a stage 1 . Its the best ive heard tbh , stays quietish at the slow stuff and has an agressive dump on full boost.

I run the K&N panel filter with the DV it still chatters beautifuly but subtle. Never liked loads of chatter everytime your off throttle. I find with spec r DV you can drive and create what you want rather than a set noise EACH time
