Default Very short video of my 4x4 saph with new straight cut box

Finally got it all back together with new diffs and straight cut box, took it out for a very brief drive earlier on just to see what it was like, it's not exactly the most exciting or long videos but gives you an idea of how it sounds.

A real performance sound, but that sure would get on my nerves.

Fun aren't they? You get lots of 'your car is well broken' looks whilst driving though

Lol not to everyones taste I'm sure, but I love it and hopefully won't have to worry about smashing gearboxes to bits every time I wind it up.
It's a 4x4 with Oppliger kit, drives wonderful, smooth as!

Not sure on the T5 mate contact Oppliger direct and discuss with them, can't help you there I'm afraid.
Love the noise but I will likely buy two sets of peltor ear defenders just incase i fancy a long run in it, I imagine with a hangover/migraine it'd be torture!
I'd have to check back on the ratios, I changed my mind a couple of times about the options tbh so I can't remember, he does offer different variations though. Not sure if all boxes sound the same, I'd expect its basically to do with the angle of the gear teeth that defines how noisey it is.
I'll get a better vid up soon.

Hi, sorry I don't have any good updated videos, the car is not with me at the moment because it's away getting some problems fixed.

Not long after I posted the video I started getting some syncro problems from 2nd-3rd which were pretty bad, completely fine at low speed but as soon as you pushed the car it wouldn't go into gear, then it seemed to start doing it in 1st-2nd as well. The car was still driveable but completely defeated the purpose of having a 'fancy' box if I couldn't drive it hard, especially since I want to start doing some track days.

The ratios are standard, 4th is helically cut so it is the quiet gear.

The car is at turbosystems at the moment, one of the jobs is to remove the box and send it away for inspection to determine what the issue is. Other than the syncro issue it has been fine.
