What tyres do you have on the RS200 wheels (front/rear) and what is the width and offset of the wheels?

16 inches mate. Proper motorsport so I can still get decent brakes under them. Side walls on tyres work as they should etc and no skipping about like on 17s I've driven.

No tyres at all at the moment - lol. My car was a works car as such - the Tickford 'Parts Validation Vehicle' for all the rs500s - so came with the wheels, they are ever so slightly different from the rs200 ones. Rear are 9inches and front 8 on those.

From recollection I ran 215s on the front and 225s at the back, but the slicks etc that came with them were wider.

Before and after a clean...

Contis on the back at the moment - eagles on the front but hard driving kills them.

Thanks,

i have to make a choice for the just arrived 7x16 ET40 Comp FR's... so curious:

Dmack 195/50/16 (small but straight side walls)
Toyo R888 195/50/16 all around (look pretty wide, balloon side walls)
Azenis RT 615 215/45/16

I only really know the Toyo, and they are great tyres.

What kind of driving do you plan, just seen your car - stunning

Mine gets some hard work sometimes as I enjoy the power... so melted tyres are a concern.

BTW a couple of my spare wheels came off Carlos Sainz car... Gwyndaff Evans had them after him... now me (the split speedlines). They are way too wide to go under standard arches.

Yours should look good and work well

what a coincidence....
the pic of Carlos' car (see thread Marlboro Carlos Sainz) shows indeed that standard arches are no option in Rally trim. Especially the rear...

By the way, I have lots of Ford Motorsport Performance News editions from the end of 1986 till 1991. Graham Robson wrote about technical developments in details for the road, rally and touring car Cosworths. In most of the issues he described in detail the set up of rally cars including that of Carlos (1988 Tour de Corse, 1000 lakes etc) and also the setup from McRae's cars.

They also shared information for the best set up (camber, tyres, suspension, springs etc) for various rallys and surfaces...
The widest advised tyre is 245/640-16 for the rear and 230-620-16 for the front tires on tarmac. That was in feb 1987.

My Brodie Brittan wheels had 245s on them. When I tried to fit them they fouled the exhaust as well as the arches, and mine are cut back a bit.

These are probably my rarest wheels.

Rare indeed, but that makes them just beautiful

It appears that you don't wear your tyres off but burn them down

My driving plan?
i am a man of particular age
so , to me i am vary cautious with stressing the machinery ie. a fast run for a short while on the German 'Autobahn' is the only time I stress the car I believe...

Cheers for that Roy

No, I think they were designed to go with a side exit pipe as there's no flippin room!!! The only pic of them I have is on a black race car of Dave Brodies and you cant really see... think its a sales pr photo or something but look much nicer on the car.

Erics, I had planned to build another car at one point, but I just love collecting rare spares - lol. One day I may rebuild a 3 dr or 500 with all the stuff I have!!
