Changed phase sensor and hard to start

Default Changed phase sensor and hard to start

Set to .2 as per book, spins for a while and then stutters, try again it starts to spin and stops,then goes again , then may fire.
Sounds like losing power to spin eng, funny one...

did you take the whole dizzy unit when u fitted the phase senson or did u fit her with the dizzy unit still fitted in the car

Incar fitting, was awkward to set gap,every time I tightened screws it changed gap, evtuslly I left .3 feelers in place and tightened up and got a .2 gap when rechecked

its been a while since i done one does she run ok once fired up i take it this problem was not there before hand

Check that you have not put the phase sensors wires on the other way around.

That's what I did when I changed mine, and had similar problems

Rob have you set the polarity or just plugged it in any old how lol
have you also plugged the phase, det sensor and crank sensor on correctly (4wd)

Didn't remove dist so only straight sensor replacement, set polarity....lol
