The YBG was not the later model of the YBJ. The YBG was sold in regions where a cat engine was needed, the YBJ was sold where it was not needed. Holland never got the YBJ, only the YBG. YBJ cars have later been imported from for instance Italy, where the cat was not needed.
What interests me is that the manual on my standard 4wd (red top) states to use unleaded fuel, yet all of the threads, tuners, rsoc etc etc say it MUST me 98 RON or it'll blow up
Why can't i just run ordinary 95 unleaded if that's what the Ford book says?

Is yours standard though , if so then as the manual states.
I run mine on 95, it depends on what it's mapped for, I assume by the advise they have given you that it's "Mapped" for SUL?
Then you can run it as the manual says imo, RSOC etc don't know more than Ford
The only thing I think they could mean is four star was 97 octane, and SUL is 98, so if your car is totally standard then it may be more suitable, as technically your supposed to make ignition timing adjustments for unleaded petrol.
i run my stage 3 cossie on standard unleaded it was even mapped on it and its been fine for 3 years and ive maxed it out in 5th several times with no meltdowns

I've had my 3dr since 1990, and I used to run it on 4 star until it was phased out. Since then I've run it on premium unleaded with no probs at all
They have hardened valve seats so can run unleaded no problems, although as is common practice it's wise to adjust the ignition timing if changing the fuel.

It will if it's mapped for it I think the problem is if it's mapped for SUL and you run it on unleaded.
twice on way to national day last year racing big dave in his escos and once on the way back when a "apparentley high power" silver stickered up saff was trying to get past me damo will confirm its the hardest its ever been driven lol well apart from last weekend on the m55 trying to hit the limiter in 5th but i backed off as it was raining that hard my wipers couldnt keep up!
What saff was that? I didn't see any of it do I don't beleive until I truly see it with my own eyes lol
thats because you were on the hard shoulder after abusing your poor saff on track lol, it was on a stand at national day not an owners club stand i looked under bonnet it had a tfucking4 on it!!! he came up behind me , damo flashed me and backed off so i moved into his lane and gave it everything , damo said after when you moved over i thought pussy he is letting it by then thought, oh hang on it cant get past!! i gave it fucking everything ha ha the guy ended up pulling on the hard shoulder, dont think it broke was just waiting for his pals to catch up.
on that one i saw 165 on the clocks which we all know is nearer 125 lol
