polly diff mount question

polly diff mount question
i fitted mine today and the mount and the bump stop are touching,anyone had this issue?
is it just a case of taking off the bump stop?do i need it ?

No need for the bump stop with that mount mate just take it off

Dout it will do any harm, infact it woud stop the water getting in .

harris the only problem i could see is that it would cause a vibration through the shell.

Fitted mine yesterday also, but mines a saph and doesnt have the block on the spare wheel bowl.........
Only problem I had was that the 2 bolts into the diff casing were 5mm to long

from what i understand mike everyones had to do the same,i think i removed about 4 threads from the bolts

I kept mine on but just cut a notch out of the top of the bump stop.

No bump stop here and yes the bolts are to long

Same here, everyone I know has has to chop the bolts.
Good bit of kit but the fittment could be made easier..

I'm sure I read that there is a variation with the depth of the threads on the diff plate from car to car,
So I'd say it's better they are 5mm to long than 5mm too short.
I sent all off the fixings for chrome and zinc plating before fitting mine

Exactly correct mate, for some reason the threaded bolt holes are not all exactly the same depth... typical 80s Ford sadly.

Surely it would have been easier and quicker to make all wholes the same in terms of production line and even costs- like they done with the rest of the car??

How much variation can occur On something with a +/- .25 tolerance.
Does anyone know of someone that hasn't had to chop there bolts down?
