Standard front diff is open, so you will only have 3 wheels spinning with it jacked up

How do you know it's not the CV?
Remember it'll be sitting at a different angle when you jack it down and the suspension isn't at full travel.
Oh, and I suspect it's the CV

if its a cv joint i would check your engine mounts too. thats what kept killing my cv joints all the time trust medue to the engine bouncing all over the place. thought my mounts were good until the engine lifted but not the car lol. they were literally split into 2.

i have fitted uprated engine mounts because it kept blowing the o/s/f driveshaft. worked out tonight its the n/s/f driveshaft. took it back off and the inner cv cup was damaged. looks like driveshaft too short and bearings were being pulled out the cup. i bought it off ebay for the o/s/f but it didnt have the cut out for the circlip. so i put it up against the old n/s/f driveshaft and looked the same. so i fitted it to the n/s/f. thinking about it, it must be off a differant car maybe? are the xr4x4 ones differant lengths etc? getting confused now. never had a problem with the original driveshaft that was in there. only got rid of that as i was gonna convert to 2wd

just a guess.. I've had some sort of problem a while ago and also thought about driveshaft and CV joints but it was the exhaust touching the body in corners and sometimes straight.
Could be also touching the front propshaft from gearbox to front diff
Double check this, and align the exhaust in the middle at that point.
