Hi lee - just ask other Welsh Lee what it was like in the back of mine before I polybushed it. He told me he could feel the beam moving under load and he was probably right. I used solid ones for about a month (and still have them if you want to try them) but it was too harsh for the road so went to polys... perfect compromise for me.

Leigh, if you do decide you want to go for the solid alloy items, i have a brand new set here that i bought from Paul (FordRallyCar) for the escort when i was going to RWD it, but never fitted them.
ill do them to you for £40 delivered if you want them.

The oe cossie ones were actual rose bearings, all metal, I took mine out and replaced with poly, never noticed any difference, the shockingly bad movement of the diff mount is something that will give you a much more impressive change for the better than anything else you could change on the rear.

I think wires are getting crossed here between beam mount bushes and rear trailing arm bushes.
Beam mounts- go polly or solid alloy, polly for me.and a key to this is the diff mount-as it is one of the beam mounts!
Trailing arm bushes- some say polly are good, though the original ford designed spherical baring bushes are said to be best. These have been remade and available through GGR- but aint cheap
