fitting 3dr exterior trims...
i'm just about to fit my trims along the sides of my 3dr, can someone give me the measurements of gaps etc?
i have a string line round the car using the bottom of the bumper trim inset.
there's 2 lines on the trim do i use the bottom one or do i use the bottom of the trim to line it up?
how many mm should it be from the bottom of the trim to the line on the body of the car?.

Its 32mm up from the door line mate. Got your pm.
Obviously clean it all up first. I used glue remover from the spray shop lads. I then put tape where I would be placing my steel ruler. This protects the paint and gives you the base line at the same time.
I put a meter rule on the side of the car with masking tape first. Start on the door as thats the main one to get right - the ends can follow.
Then it is a simple job to rest the rubber trim on this before pushing it home hard.
The ruler can be slid along the fixed door rubber strip and retaped to rest the front and rear parts on - then it all lines up perfectly
Hope this helps

another tip if you are using the repro ones is dont pull them as you stick them down otherwise you get to the end of the door with a good few mm of rubber left as they are quite stretchy

Cough cough........ i wish someone had told me when we were doing mine we were so careful doing it slightly and got to the end of the door and had a couple of mm over - gutted as they used to come with the strongest tape ever so they had to be removed and re-taped
