hello guys merry christmas to you all, hope you all had a good 1,
im after buying a new radiator for my 2wd saff and after browsing ebay there are alot on there for around 130quid new and they are some radtec 1s for around 260.whats the diffrence between them as they both look identical to each other but completly diffrent prices, also on buying a new radiator is it best to get the uprated fan kit also for my stage 3 saff.
thankyou

the uprated 1's are all alloy which get rid of heat better,
some reckon they're needed others dont
but cossy's do like to get hot so anything that settles the cooling down cant be a bad thing

Most alloy rads are very overpriced for what they are, I would personally(and do) use AIRTEC, not the prettiest but certainly strongly made unlike some other makes that split etc, excellent value for money.
Personally I wouldn't bother with any uprated fan kit, the std fans are very well up to the job very easily, more easily with a alloy rad, but I would change the fan switch for another one from the ford range with a lower hysterisis/span of on/off temp.
Std 88C stat is perfectly fine, the "special" 82C stat is just a bog standard zetec stat, so don't pay inflated prices if wanted, but it will do zero to offer any protection from overheating.
My fan comes on at 95C and goes off at 92C, with a 88C stat(aftermarket ecu).

I have standard rad and have no problems fans are fine the only thing I sometimes suffer with is the fans stay on for a prolonged period this threw me at first but I then learnt it's a common problem and I know I could sort this with one of the MSD fan switches as said which have a better and shorter span.
Also as said with an alloy rad you have to get the uprated fan switch (Green) otherwise the fans stay on due to the heat soak effect.
