This is what I call forum advice.

The winning car in my championship (not a contender, the WINNER) has the same spec that I am running.

Danny, what Sapph do you know running 550lb front and 350LB rear springs? I have Gaz Gold at the back already. Anti-roll bar is fine. No need for shim kit yet (I have one in the garage).

Not helpful.

also, with the diff mount, do you just litterally fill it with a tube of sikaflex????
I would jack up the car, loosen the beam mount, Stick a big socket between the body and the bush, then push the beam up against the car so the socket forces the beam bush out, using a second jack. This should work.

That's the diff mount that I use.

Sorry Danny, didn't realise you helped build my car.

I'm not being a knob. I don't understand what you mean by Gaz Silver. I went on the Gaz site, and I rang Warren and asked him what Gaz Silver is. What do you mean? Gaz don't do a Silver coilover.

What's the effect of running 100lb harder springs at the back on my car? Who does it? My aim is to lap like the winner in my series and he runs 550 front and 250 rear. He's .8sec quicker than me in a Cossie with the same spec.

What ARB should I use? What thickness? What will that do to the handling? What car do you know running in similar spec but with a stiffer ARB? What are the lap times?

I'll do anything to the car that I know will make it faster, so happy to listen to advice but won't try it unless I can see it works.

The gaz silver is the std range and the golds are the better ones, they are stiffer and will make the dampning better and the springs work better and will be easier to adjust to your needs..
The arb id go for would be a escos one and this will help with roll, the harder rear springs will prvent so much squat and stop the geometry going all over the show at the rear when accelerating out of bends etc and the shim kit also aids in this..
I cant tell you of a car that runs the exact spec im telling you but i can tell you your car will be far better with these changes and will be far more planted and go where you want it too...
A car in the above spec with your power id say should lap brands indy circuit in around the 55 second bracket..hth

I run Gaz Golds. Like this:

Spring rates and rear ARB are fine. I understand how the geometry changes under load.

I think you've plucked the 350lb rear spring rate out of the air which is fair enough, but as I have already said I have a benchmark - my fellow competitor, Colin, who is quicker than me on 250lb springs, and is in the 55s bracket.

You are guessing at a spring rate that you think will work, but Colin is proof that 250lb springs work. This is what I mean by forum advice. You think it will work, and it might do, but I'm not ringing Gaz to buy stiffer springs based on guesswork when I can see Colin going fast on softer springs.
